The Circle for the Lacanian Orientation of Omaha (CLOO) holds various programs, under the direction of Thomas Svolos, Member of the New Lacanian School.
These events include:
-weekly Reading Seminar held at the Creighton University Department of Psychiatry. The current program is “A Close Reading of Jacques Lacan’s Seminar XV, The Psychoanalytic Act‘” This reading is a preparatory activity for the next Clinical Study Days on the theme of “The Psychoanalytic Act in the 21st Century.” This program is open to the public.
-twice-monthly Seminar on The Lacanian Clinical Approach held at Immanual Medical Center. Beginning Summer, 2011, the theme will be “Psychoanalytic Diagnosis, An Orientation to the Treatment.” Each month will feature one session with a Clinical Talk, and a second session with a Case Presentation and Discussion. This program is open to Alegent clinicians, Creighton Faculty and Psychiatry Residents, and by invitation.
-periodic series on Psychoanalysis and the Movies, featuring presentations and discussion, presented in collaboration with Alegent Health and the University of Nebraska, Omaha. This program is open to the public.
