SUBTLETIES IN PSYCHOANALYSIS

SUBTLETIES IN PSYCHOANALYSIS
JACQUES-ALAIN MILLER
In 2022 Lacanian Compass New York will embark on a reading of Jacques-Alain Miller’s 2008-2009 course “Choses de finesse en psychanalyse” [Subtleties in Psychoanalysis]. We will read all the published English translations of this course, which consists of 11 of the 20 lessons that were given in French. This is the first time that our group will follow one of Miller’s yearly courses, tracing his reading of Lacan and Freud. This course focuses on the praxis of Lacanian psychoanalysis in the 21st century and will be of interest to analysands, clinicians, artists, cultural theorists, and colleagues from other disciplines.
